A Busy Season Beckons!

As Christmas seems such a long time ago, the bands calendar for the rest of the year begins to grow with a variety of concerts and events set for the Spring, Summer and Autumn months. With the decision taken not to contest this year, it has allowed the band some time to identify and rehearse music that is both new and also some that has not been played for a while. The concerts and events include St. Bartholomew’s Church at Herne Bay, St. Martin’s Church at Graveney, Faversham, the usual Kent seaside bandstands and Chislet Country Fair. The band have once again been invited back to the King Ethelbert Inn at Reculver for its annual ‘Best of British’ concert that will move from its Saturday evening to a 3pm downbeat on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of June. Band Joins Colliery Choir For Annual Christmas Concert

The band will once again join the Snowdown Colliery Male Voice Choir in its annual Christmas concert at St. Finbarr’s Church in our home village of Aylesham. The concert will take place on Friday 13th December at 7.30pm. It is free entry but with a retiring collection and a raffle – refreshments are also provided during the interval. It goes without saying that the concert will feature a number of upbeat Christmas tunes and songs as well as traditional carols for all to join in. The emphasis of the evening is about having fun in the festive season and in the lead up to Christmas itself. The concert is also the final “swansong” of the choir’s Musical Director, Michael Lewis who retires from the choir after many years at the helm. The band wish him well for the future and sends many congratulations for his service to the choir and music in the area in general.
